Lead Pastor
Peter Hiett is the son of a Presbyterian pastor, whom he greatly adored. After receiving a degree in Geology from the University of Colorado, Peter earned an M.Div. Degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena CA. He’s been the lead pastor at the Sanctuary since 2008 and before that pastored some of our people at a church in Golden. Peter has authored four books… that you should read! He has been ordained by the Presbyterian Church USA, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and now, our body, The Sanctuary. He has been married to Susan, his high school sweetheart, since 1983. They have four wonderful children that Peter likes most of the time.
FACT: Peter was once a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner salesman—a career in which he did not excel.
Executive Pastor (Outreach and Communication)
Brett Eades is married to his high school sweetheart Heather, and is the proud homeschooling dad of two beautify and wildly talented girls. Brett and Heather have considered The Sanctuary their home since its inception, coming from Calvary Chapel and Methodist backgrounds. Brett has spent 30 years in customer service industries driving outstanding internal and external experiences by building, training, and equipping teams. He enjoys coffee, craft beer (stouts and porters), reading, trail running, hiking, backpacking, and fly fishing.
FACT: Before they were high school sweathearts, Brett and Heather were grade-school friends (since 4th grade).
Associate Pastor (Spiritual Formation and Community Life)
John Pyrc is married to Kathy and they live in the love of 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Since 2016, they have been serving together as spiritual formation missionaries with the order of Imago Christi to bring renewal to the church through the transforming rhythms of abiding in intimacy with God through contemplative prayer, spiritual community, and mission. John is a lover of long walks, integrative thinking, writing, great design, a good laugh, kombucha, and passionate about the love of God as the beginning, end, and sustainer of all things. Life is about abiding in the flow.
FACT: John served as the abbot for a monastic community of young adults for two years.
Pastor of Children’s Ministry
Angie Dancer is passionate about God and His love expressed through His story. She is also passionate about children. She has worked with children/youth for almost 20 years, in various capacities including children’s ministry, youth ministry, education, and therapy. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Multnomah Bible College in Biblical Education with a youth ministry minor and a Masters in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. When she is not running Children’s ministry, she is reading Harry Potter to her kids, or working at her play therapy office.
FACT: In elementary school, Angie and her dog puppet performed ventriloquism acts for backyard Bible clubs
Pastor of Worship Arts
Anthony is a military brat and Third-Culture Kid. He and Jessica have been married 21 years, and have three kids (Ali 15, Masami 13, and Elise 6). For 19 years, Anthony has been ministering with Cadence International. Growing up in Japan, Cadence was how he came to follow Jesus. After university in Portland, Oregon, he and his wife went to Germany to start their family and ministry with Cadence. After 15 years in Germany, Anthony's family moved to Denver and were finally able to worship with the Sanctuary in person, after 23 years of listening to Peter's teachings online. Anthony is literally interested in everything, and able to do most things, so connect with him!
FACT: Anthony used to use jellyfish to play dodgeball on sailboats in Tokyo Bay.
Media Director
Glen Gibson grew up in Miami, FL and moved to Colorado in 1992. He met his wife Tina in 1995 and they have been married for over 20 years. They have two great kids Mykayla and Josh. Glen has been involved in television productions and audio/video work since 1988 in Miami and here in Denver. He has been working with our church from the start and became our Media Director in 2015. Glen produces our weekly web broadcasts and sends our messages out on Facebook every week.
FACT: Glen used to be the fill-in DJ at the Hotwheels Skating Center in Miami. “Everybody skate backwards...”
