Intimacy with God: A three-part prayer workshop
Wednesdays starting March 17 · 6-7:30pm on Zoom
When you hear the phrase “intimacy with God,” what do you think and feel? Longing? Desire? Disappointment? Frustration? Fear? Guilt? Shame?
Is your prayer life helping your feel close to God, or does it feel more like part of the problem than the solution?
When do you feel closest to God? What if prayer could be like that? What if prayer could be more than that?
In “Intimacy with God” we will introduce three practices of prayer that posture our hearts, minds, and entire souls to abide in rhythms of life-giving connection with God. We learn to be still, be silent, and be present to the Lord of glory who is not in some far-off, out-of-touch place called “heaven,” but is a heavenly presence closer than your own heartbeat. In the Spirit we rest in Jesus’ oneness with the Father. He in you, and you in him; partaking in his worship, his heart, and his communion. To know and be known. To welcome of all that we are, our best parts and our worst parts, to the table of the Lord, that we might come and be made whole. To be overflowing with his presence and joining the Lord in blessing what we sense he is blessing. All of life is meant to be worship. Intimacy in prayer is where we learn to transition from doing things for God, to abiding in life with God. This is your birthright. Join us in discovering how to intentionally walk in it.
Workshops will be led by John Pyrc. John is a member of Imago Christi, a community of spiritual formation missionaries called to prophetically live out and invite Christian leaders into an intimate and transforming relationship of love with the Trinity so that the love of God will overflow through the Church into a world that desperately needs Him.
